NeuroFascial Integration is a holistic body-based approach to healing
that restores your connection to your body, rebuilds inner awareness,
and supports lasting physical and emotional balance.
Elements of this Method
This work is the culmination of my knowledge and experience over the last 18 years, across physiotherapy, movement rehabilitation, fascial and scar tissue work, nervous system regulation, trauma-informed and somatic practices, energy healing, and intuitive work, as well as movement disciplines such as yoga, Tai Chi, Qi Gong, and other martial arts.
In this practice, I have brought together everything I have found to be most effective in supporting the foundations of health and well-being - physically, mentally and emotionally.
This work is especially supportive for those living with chronic conditions such as persistent pain, autoimmune disorders, or long-term dysregulation, including fibromyalgia, IBS, chronic fatigue, or the effects of abdominal or pelvic surgeries. It is equally valuable for those who struggle with emotional regulation, feel stuck in fight/flight or shutdown states, identify as highly sensitive or neurodivergent, or experience a sense of disconnection from themselves and are seeking meaningful ways to support their own healing.

Body Awareness and Sensory Perception
The human sensory system is highly evolved, offering depth and complexity far beyond what most of us consciously access. The way we feel what is happening within our bodies shapes how we experience life - it is how we feel life itself.
Most of us are far more sensitive to life's inputs than we realize, and often unaware of how deeply responsive our bodies are to our environment. Those of us who are highly sensitive or neurodivergent often understand this more deeply, as we often feel the world intensely.
Our ability to feel the external world is just as important as our ability to feel our internal world. Chronic pain or illness does not only alter sensation - it disrupts how the nervous system perceives the body from within, which compromises its ability to regulate internal metabolic processes effectively. When pain or inflammation persists in certain areas, sensory perception becomes distorted - heightened in some places and diminished in others. This imbalance affects how muscles activate and how movement is coordinated, as these processes depend heavily on accurate sensory feedback. Over time, this has consequences for joint instability and movement freedom, and may lead to persistent tension or joint or nerve compression, creating self-perpetuating cycles of pain and movement dysfunction. Rebuilding sensory clarity and awareness is key to interrupting this cycle. As perception becomes more accurate, movement patterns improve, the body begins to feel safer, and the nervous system can regulate more consistently. Sensory awareness is also essential for emotional regulation. Every emotion has a physical expression in the body - shaped by tension patterns and biochemical responses. We recognize emotions by how they feel in our bodies. When physical sensation is altered through chronic pain or illness, our ability to feel and identify emotions can become impaired. We struggle to feel our emotions fully and identify them accurately. This makes it more difficult to respond to triggers, process experiences, and find a sense of inner steadiness within challenging circumstances. During emotionally intense experiences, the body often numbs sensation as a protective response to overwhelm. This is especially common in highly sensitive and neurodivergent experiences. This disconnection can lead to a broader distortion in sensory perception over time, limiting our ability to process both emotional and physical experiences. This work prioritizes restoring sensory awareness as a foundation for healing - for both body and mind.

Nervous System Regulation and Capacity
Sensory feedback is fundamental to the nervous system's ability to regulate both physiological processes and stress responses. As the central regulator of the body, the nervous system relies on detailed internal awareness to maintain balance and respond appropriately to change, for all physical and chemical processes, as well as the effects of emotional stress on your body and mind.
Many of us have lived through enough emotional challenge that our systems struggle to settle fully. It can feel difficult to fully relax, to rest deeply, or to access a consistent sense of inner calm. For many, dysregulation has become the norm.
When we begin to gently reconnect with our bodies in a way that feels safe and supportive, the nervous system starts to regulate naturally. There is a sense of safety in being present in the body - in allowing awareness to rest inside, connected to the present moment. When awareness is constantly pulled outward - into stress, distraction, past experiences or future worries - or when we live disconnected and dissociated from the body, the nervous system tends to remain on edge, waiting for the next potential danger. This work gently guides your awareness back into your body and builds your capacity to stay present with what you feel. Over time, your system becomes more resilient - able to regulate more quickly in the moment, recover more easily from triggers, and sustain a sense of inner balance and anchoring, even within challenging circumstances. As this capacity grows, so does your ability to remain present in your life, to respond rather than react, and to move through daily experiences with greater flexibility, adaptability and ease.

Fascial Freedom and Flow
The fascial system - the connective tissue network that weaves through the body - is intimately connected with the nervous system. Most of the nerve endings responsible for sensing the inner body live within fascia, and most of the nervous signals that control structures like muscles and blood vessels travel through fascia to get there. Nervous communication happens within and through fascia.
The quality of this communication depends greatly on the health of your fascia. When you fascia becomes restricted or held in protective patterns, this limits both movement and internal communication, reducing your nervous system's capacity to regulate effectively.
Fascia also serves as the interstitial medium through which essential substances like hormones, neurotransmitters and immune factors move between cells. This makes it central not only to structural integrity, but also to the body's chemical communication systems. Movement habits, injury, stress patterns and nutritional and lifestyle factors all influence fascial health, and can affect your ability to move and feel your body. When we restore the freedom of movement and fluid flow within this system, we can improve the fundamental aspects of health, making all communication and regulating functions in your body more balanced and effective. As the body becomes freer and more fluid, movement feels lighter, sensation becomes clearer, and it becomes easier to connect with the sensations and emotions within. This deepens your relationship with your body and brings you deeper into a natural connection with yourself.

Structural Framework and Coordination
Our bodies accumulate imbalances throughout a lifetime of movement patterns, injuries and chronic tension from emotional wounds. When certain areas of the body become fascially stiff or the muscles hold long-term tension patterns for protection and bracing, the blood and lymph flow in these areas is reduced. This means that nerve endings struggle to work, the feeling within these areas reduces, and the nervous system is less connected to our muscles and fascia. Regulation of body tension becomes difficult, and muscles cannot coordinate and work well together. We feel physically uncoordinated and weak.
As we release tension and restore fascial fluidity, you may feel more loose, weak or unstable in certain body areas. The muscles here haven't worked ideally in a while, and they must relearn how to work together properly. As your body gently opens, it is important to give these muscles exercises and experiences that help them practice this, so that your whole body's framework and structure can rebuild in new dimensions that are more open, strong and stable. The stronger you feel in your body, the safer you feel inhabiting it, the more you fully own your body, the more you start enjoying what your body can do and the more fun you start having in your community again.

Coming Home to Self
When sensory perception, nervous system regulation, and fascial health are compromised, and when we struggle to feel strong and solid within our physical bodies, it becomes difficult to feel at home within ourselves. Many people live feeling disconnected - from their bodies, their emotions, and their inner world.
This can affect our ability to be fully present, to receive support and connection from others, and to experience the richness and beauty of life. It is often at the root of feeling depressed, anxious or stuck in life.
Many approaches to healing rely on passive treatments, which can leave people feeling disempowered or more anxious about our health. In my experience, the most meaningful healing happens when people feel supported and empowered to understand themselves and actively participate in their own process. This work focuses on giving you simple, practical tools that you can begin using to help yourself from the start. As you learn how your body responds and what it needs, you begin to develop a deeper trust in your own system and the ability to support yourself in ways that feel truly nourishing and aligned. As your relationship with your sensory, nervous and fascial systems strengthens, you begin to feel more at home in your body, and gradually, more at home within yourself. As you begin to connect more deeply to the person you are beneath your daily stressors, you find the desires and talents that live there, often hidden behind fears and frustrations, or weighted down by exhaustion and emptiness. The more you come home to yourself, the more you can bring these hidden aspects to light, and start creating a lifestyle around who you truly want to be. As you deepen your love for who you truly are, life becomes more meaningful, inspired and more fully your own.

How Sessions Work
Sessions can either be done in person or online.
In a session, I guide you through a process using aspects of the following:
-
breathing techniques
-
nervous system regulation exercises
-
self-help fascial release techniques
-
movement exploration and fascial unwinding
-
intuitive connection to body sensations and emotions
-
neural repatterning of movement and sensory perception
These elements will be combined and customized according to your unique needs.
During in-person sessions, I incorporate hands-on fascia work techniques to support and deepen these practices.
This has the added benefit of helping you stay more present with your body during the process, and unwinding fascia on deeper levels. Online guided sessions follow the same principles and can be equally supportive in facilitating awareness, integration and healing.
Testimonials
"Working with Sybille and reconnecting to my body in a safe and gradual way became a doorway to feeling and identifying parts of myself that I knew existed and needed to be accessed, but I couldn’t identify because of existing in a state of freeze. After completing the journey of body work, the deeper connections to myself have returned and continue to do so. It’s as if a lightbulb to my nervous system went on and in there lay so many of the answers I was seeking. With the completion of this work came more nervous system regulation than I could have ever hoped and dreamed of. It’s incredible."
Jillian
"Meeting Sybille felt both serendipitous and destined. Both her physical handling and spiritual/emotional guidance has lead me to face mental blocks that have started to manifest in my body as physical pain.
The breathing and relaxation techniques really work when I use them consciously and help me to understand what my body is "saying", to identify triggers and develop the tools to deal with them both mentally and physically. It's an ongoing process that I am determined to maintain."
Veruschka
"I’ve had several sessions focusing on my tight upper body, ribcage and restrictive breathing patterns.
Sybille has an incredible understanding of the body, fascia, anatomy and anatomic movement.
Through gentle, highly specific touch and breathing techniques, she has helped me create more space, awareness and connection in my chest and upper body.
What has been most transformative is learning to breathe differently. Through our sessions, I’ve been able to shift the way I relate to my lungs and upper torso and develop new breathing patterns that I can take into my physical training as a cyclist & yoga teacher.
The difference has been remarkable, and I’m immensely grateful for Sybille’s knowledge, sensitivity and skill to listen to the body’s responses as they present throughout our sessions. This creates the safety needed for my nervous system to feel deeply understood."
Joey
"This treatment has given me a greater awareness of my body, particularly the connection between physical tension, my gut, and my overall well-being. Through the treatment, I became more conscious of how I hold stress and tension in my abdominal area and how this can influence how I feel physically and emotionally.
The release created a deeper sense of relaxation and connection within my body, allowing me to become more aware of what my body needs. It has been a valuable experience in supporting my gut wellness, self-awareness, and overall sense of balance.
I can recommend this kind of treatment to anyone who experiences muscle tension, stiffness, restricted movement, or simply feels that their body needs to be released from built-up stress and tension."

What is Energy Balancing?
Our energy system lies a the foundation of our physical and emotional health. Common life stressors often disturb our natural energy flow and create imbalances that strain our bodies and create illness. When the body and mind are out of alignment due to chronic stress or health issues, we feel disconnected from ourselves and struggle to find strength and freedom in our lives. Energy work can realign the body and mind, rebalance your energy and restore resilience of the entire system, boosting your natural healing powers.
This session includes an intuitive reading about:
-
Your power element
-
Your power animal
-
Your energy field
-
Your question or specific issue - physical or emotional
Information about what your body and energy system might need right now is given to me in symbols and images that help you understand the underlying themes potentially contributing to your imbalances. The more aware you are of these underlying patterns, the easier it is for your system to let them go and find healing.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from normal physiotherapy? This approach incorporates experience and knowledge from a wide variety of healing methods. I have boiled down all that wisdom to what I find to be the most important elements of healing - sensory integration, nervous system balance, fascial freedom, structural coordination and reconnection to self. In this way, NeuroFascial Integration is a more holistic approach that guides you to reconnect with your body and prioritizes teaching you self-directed methods you can use to help yourself. Hands-on work can be a part of that but does not have to be. Physical exercises are helpful and supportive but are not the only approach. What matters most is coming home to your body and to yourself. This approach is not a quick fix or an emergency treatment for muscle spasms or acute flare-ups. This approach works best for chronic conditions or complex situations where conventional methods aren't really helping you move forward.
I am very sensitive and most other physiotherapy or bodywork hurts. Can you help me? I'm highly sensitive too and completely understand what that feels like. That's why I designed this approach as an option for people who are sensitive to connect with their bodies - not to force their bodies to become less sensitive but to use that sensitivity for your benefit. None of this work is painful and is less much likely to cause a flare-up afterwards. You may feel some emotions, you may feel some discomfort, but you have complete freedom to go into that or not. My approach will never push you into anything you don't want to do, and you can work through this in your own way in your own time. I am here to guide you and help you reconnect with your body, and help you do that according to your capacity. Most people find this work deeply relaxing and find a new, more easeful, light and free sense of living inside their bodies. And as your nervous system finds more safety within your sensitivity, you can begin to use it to heal yourself.
How can this help me for anxiety? Sensations of anxiety are felt in the body and can be the result of a chronically dysregulated nervous system that struggles to rebalance itself. While there are always deeper mental and emotional causes that need to be addressed with a mental health professional, my work can help your nervous system learn to find balance again, and increase its flexibility and resilience when dealing with challenging sensations and emotions. Helping you find peace and sanctuary within your body through sensory integration work can support your ability to manage your anxiety triggers in the moment, and may help give you the inner strength needed to face the emotions around your challenges. While this work should never be used to suppress your emotions, avoid working on deeper issues or simply to survive a difficult situation, it can help you find a stronger foundation from which to do your inner work, based on self-compassion and empowerment.
How can this help me with a pain that has emotional or traumatic roots? During emotionally challenging events, our whole-body fascia and deepest core muscles contract and brace for protection. These tension patterns will be active as long as the emotional theme is being processed, and can, over years, become habitual and reactivated with every emotional trigger related to the original event, if it was not fully processed and resolved. Over time, this chronic tension, plus many other factors, can lead to chronic pain and illness. Helping the nervous system process the unresolved emotion is essential to releasing the root causes, while it is just as essential to help the body release the protective tension patterns associated with them. My work is to help you release this chronic tension from the body and return to a balanced sensory relationship with yourself, while you work through the emotional themes by yourself or with a mental health professional.
What if I have a chronic health condition? Chronic health conditions are often associated with a chronically dysregulated nervous system. When your nervous system struggles to regulate your stress responses, it will also struggle to regulate all other body processes and keep your physical functions in homeostasis. This can limit your body's capacity to heal. This work can help rebuild your nervous system's capacity to self-regulate and become more resilient, which can boost your body's fundamental healing capacity. All chronic conditions arise as a result of imbalances on multiple levels, and no single treatment can heal you completely. When your fundamental sense of balance returns, it can be easier to help your body move toward healing with all other methods and approaches you use. All chronic challenges - physical or emotional - always have the potential of teaching you a life lesson. As this work helps you reconnect with yourself and your body's intuition, you can learn more about what this challenge might be trying to teach you, and help yourself move forward from a place of understanding and autonomy, and you can more easily empower yourself beyond your challenges.
I don't want to talk about my trauma, can you still help me? Yes. I am not a mental health professional and it is not the goal of this work to process your trauma verbally or mentally. My work focuses on your sensory experience within your body and your relationship with your body, and finding ways unique to you that you can use to help yourself rebuild this relationship. Emotions, memories and thoughts may come up during or after a session, and I recommend using mental health services to help you process what comes up for you. As you come home to your body, it becomes easier to process your inner experiences. The focus of this work is not to look back at what happened or figure out why, but to be in the present moment and help you feel connected to yourself and your body. This work can help open up deeper possibilities for trauma healing with your mental health professional, but I do not address your trauma directly in my sessions.
I cannot really feel into my body, can this still help me? Most of us struggle to connect with our bodies due to long-held beliefs and modern lifestyles. This work is designed to help you with exactly that, providing an easy step-by-step process that brings you closer to yourself. When you take the first steps on the bridge back to your own body, your deeper emotional and intuitive capacities open up naturally. Most people are surprised at what becomes possible with simple doable practices, and once your channel is more open, you can learn to help yourself within any future physical or emotional challenges.
